Pickup for Online Bidders will be Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, from noon to 3:00 PM in the Furbish Annex, 2843 Hathaway Rd. Richmond, Va. (Just a few doors down from Furbish Thrift, in the Stratford Hills Shopping Center).

Grindstaff’s Auction Marketing Group is proud to partner with the William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation to host the Wild at Heart Auction, benefiting Furbish Thrift and its lifesaving animal welfare programs.
Last year’s Wild at Heart Auction raised more than $10,000 for Furbish Thrift’s animal welfare programs, like Fixin’ to Go Home, which pays for spay/neuters and basic vet care for shelter animals to help them find homes faster; The Big Fix, which funds spay/neuters for colony cats and stems the explosion of unwanted feral kittens; The Mark W. Burkett Scholarship Fund for Veterinary Education, which pays for Vet or Vet Tech tuition; and community outreach programs, which include distributing more than 6,500 lbs of pet food and animal supplies per month to those in need. Cash grants to small, volunteer-run animal welfare non-profits has already surpassed $268,000 in just over two years. The animal community needs all the help it can get, and it’s counting on you.
The Wild at Heart Auction will run online for a full week leading up to the big event on October 10, 2025, ensuring maximum exposure for every donated item.
Wild at Heart : A Party for the Animals is a fundraiser for Furbish Thrift. Furbish Thrift is a program of the William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation a 501C3 nonprofit organization.
The party takes place October 10th @ 7 pm at Maymont 1000 Westover Road Richmond Va. Every dollar raised will benefit Richmond animals. We have big plans to help more animals, rescues, shelters, and pet owners this year. Each ticket includes two free drinks including our signature feral cocktails, delicious food from Richmond’s best caterer, and eclectic entertainment. Pickup: For guests at the event, pickup will be immediately following auction closing.
For remote bidders pickup will be Saturday October 11 and Sunday October 12 from 12 pm to 3 pm located at 2843 Hathaway Rd, Stratford Hills Shopping Center, Richmond, VA. . Same shopping center as Furbish Thrift next to EAT66 Diner
We will verify your credit card by placing a 1.00 hold on the card, purchases will be charged at the end of the auction with credit card on file. Items will begin closing at 9PM at the speed of 1 items per 30 seconds with 1 minute extension if a bid is received within the last 60 seconds.
